YOUR PROJECT:
Choose one of the topics above or a different issue you would like to talk about.
Think about how to introduce the issue offering clear information about it:
- What is the topic/issue?
- Some examples of this topic, or its history.
- Find something controversial* about it (an idea, a real situation, a
possible solution…) of that issue about which different people may have different opinions.
- Explain your own point of view about that controversial situation and give three strong reasons why you believe what you believe.
- Find images (pictures, charts, infographics…), videos, songs… that can illustrate what you are explaining.
- Make a list of the key words you need to talk about that problem.
- Think about one or more questions that you could ask your classmates to help them express their opinions.
What is a controversial issue?
A few weeks ago, in Nanaimo, a judge ordered a husband and wife to pay $48,000 in damages because their 14-year-old son had played a joke at school by activating the fire alarms and sprinklers, and causing damages to the school. Some people believed this was unfair to the parents; after all, they did not do anything wrong. Other people believed this was fair; they said it was the parents’ responsibility for the boy’s action.
What is your opinión about this. Think of three reasons to support your opinion.

You should describe the animal and its characteristics, explain what family it belongs to, talk about its life span, reproduction, habits, food and situation in the food chain, what it can and what it can't do, and also about its usual habitat and the areas where we can find it.
Work hard and good luck!
